Fundraising and Community Outreach Officer IGBC is on an exciting trajectory forward, and we are looking for someone who loves supporting the growth of others,
Over the last two years and counting, there’s no question that most safe spaces disappeared—access to people and places that young folks relied on to feel seen, heard, and represented.
Self-isolation often meant losing the comfort and safety of one’s chosen family. With school closures, many also lost access to teachers and other affirming adults.
with renewed hope and healing in mind. Through the power of storytelling, It Gets Better Canada is working to rebuild a strong sense of community that is needed to not just survive—but thrive.
At It Gets Better Canada, we’re creating a new way forward, one where 2SLGBTQ+ youth are empowered to reclaim their right to love and be loved—just as they are.
This day was created to mark the World Health Organization’s (WHO) important step to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder, on May 17th, 1990.
Every year, advocates around the world call on local authorities, decision-makers, and the public to recognize and support the issues those with diverse sexual identities, gender expressions, and sex characteristics currently face.
Originally called “International Day Against Homophobia” to reflect the WHO’s decision on homosexuality, the name has rightfully expanded—to reflect other identities.
First in 2009, to include transphobia and bring attention to the specific experiences at the intersection of sexual orientation and gender expression. And again in 2015, to include biphobia and acknowledge the issues faced by those who identify as bisexual.
You can uplift and empower our young folks by spreading awareness, expressing your support, and creating connection by:
