Over the past few months, many have experienced a noticeable rise in hate on the platform, including anti-2SLGBTQ+ rhetoric – hate which does real harm to our community, especially youth.
We envision a world where all 2SLGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. To do so, we must reach youth where they are and create safe spaces to share essential resources and content.
Social media has always been a powerful tool for us, but right now, the user experience on X and the platform’s lack of action against this rise in hate do not allow us to safely uplift queer youth in the way that other social media channels do.
Our X account will be dormant from today Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
We will be continuing to uplift, empower, and connect 2SLGBTQ+ youth across Canada on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Threads, and our website. Please join us in supporting all 2SLGBTQ+ youth and showing them that #ItGetsBetter.
