For me to speak about the history and understanding<\/strong> of identifying as \u201cTwo-Spirit\u201d is to only speak from the heart of my own personal story, along with recognizing and honouring the Indigenous relatives before me who made it possible for this knowledge to continue being passed down to future generations.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>

Due to my family’s deep impacts from intergenerational trauma and colonization, there was a huge disconnection from any cultural knowledge along with our community altogether, making my journey with understanding my identity extremely difficult to navigate on top of going through difficult situations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

When I was younger, my mom used to pick my outfits for school and I never liked how \u201cgirly\u201d they always were, it wasn\u2019t until I wanted to express myself more freely whenever I pleased, that I asked to do it myself which sparked the connection to both the feminine and masculine energies I\u2019ve always walked within.<\/span><\/p>

Between the confusion of questioning my sexuality for many years and the fear of rejection from my family over how I chose to identify, it was a constant internal battle trying to figure out where I fit in,<\/strong> which was usually outside lines.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
